Sede privilegiata e unica in Italia, Firenze accoglie nuovamente ARTOUR-O a marzo 2009. Presente dal 2005, ha anticipato la rinascita della città come “capitale” del Contemporaneo.
"Le Città d'Arte per l'Arte Contemporanea" avrà come location principale il Grand Hotel Minerva e, come ogni anno, “invaderà” artisticamente la Città grazie al percorso che coinvolge palazzi storici e piazze.

La Piazza di Santa Maria Novella, ormai riconsegnata alla Città, è un punto di forza quale contenitore emblematico e auspichiamo che l'inaugurazione della Piazza coincida con le nostre date. E’ inoltre allo studio un concorso internazionale per l'arredo della Piazza stessa.

Il Grand Hotel Minerva, contenitore prestigioso scelto perché in linea con lo spirito di ARTOUR-O, si trasforma grazie agli operatori in un museo d'arte contemporanea vivo e vivace ospitando al suo interno una serie di mostre, performance, installazioni. Percorrendo i suoi corridoi il pubblico può visitare la grande esposizione che scaturisce dalla visita delle stanze, durante il pomeriggio e alla sera; mentre le mattinate sono a disposizione degli ospiti - al mattino l'hotel è chiuso al pubblico– per visitare la città grazie ad una serie di eventi programmati.

I protagonisti di ARTOUR-O sono sempre selezionati in un'ottica trasversale, istituzionali e privati, dai Musei alle Fondazioni alle Gallerie, così da evidenziare l'importante ruolo svolto nelle proprie sedi, vissute come luoghi di diffusione dell'arte.

In sintesi ARTOUR-O è un modo divertente e attento alla cultura per passare tre giorni a Firenze che grazie a quest'evento non si presenta solo come Città d'Arte del passato ma anche del presente e del futuro.

Florence, unique and artful site in Italy, welcomes ARTOUR-O again in March 2009. ARTOUR-O, present in the town since 2005, prefigured the renaissance of Florence as capital city of Contemporary Arts.


The main location of "Contemporary cities for Contemporary arts" will be the Grand Hotel Minerva, but the exhibition will artisticly "invade" the City for its route will concern many historical palaces and squares.
Santa Maria Novella Square, regiven to the city, is a strength point as emblematic case and we hope that the opening of the square will coincide with our calendar. An official international competion indeed has beeing launched for the set up of the square itself.
The Grand Hotel Minerva, eminent location chosen for it's affinity with ARTOUR-O's spirit will become a vivid and bright Contemporary Art museum hosting a lot of shows, exhibitions and installations.
Passing through the corridors the visitors will be able to observe every single room with its operas in the afternoon and in the evening, while the mornings will offer the chance of visiting the other sites of Florence, for the hotel is closed.


ARTOUR-O's protagonists are always chosen from a transversal point of view that concerns Institutions as well as private citizens (museums, foundations and galleries), in order to stress the important role of these sites, where art is spread.


In short, ARTOUR-O is a funny and culture-focusing way to spend three days in Florence and enjoy this city that was, is and will forever be a City of Art.
